Our Story
Our journey to becoming civil engineering staffing specialists.
Purpose
Every year the U.S. produces 8,000 fewer civil engineering graduates than it needs to meet demand – and immigration alone can’t bridge the gap. The industry is facing a talent crisis.
Hires Group (formerly Technical Hires) was founded in 2023 by the former CEO and COO of a multi-million-dollar staffing firm to partner with U.S. civil engineering firms to address this challenge and help engineers navigate their options – built on a people-before-profit ethos.
Approach
Our approach: highly tailored outreach, a precise, pressure-free process that leads to long term matches. Our staffing specialists are developed in the same method, spending 6 to 12 months learning their craft.
It’s working. We’ve built full structural teams, led VP-level searches, and helped engineers cut through the noise to find the right fit.
As we grew, so did our identity. We rebranded to Hires Group to reflect our expanded service offering beyond Technical roles. From a cupboard-sized office to a 20-person city-centre space, we now support firms nationwide – and we’re only just getting started.
